Opens Thursday 1 October 2026 · Dunedin Botanic Garden Information Centre
The idea
A festival spread across a city needs somewhere to begin. The Bloom Hub is that place, sitting at the Dunedin Botanic Garden Information Centre.
It works as the festival's information centre. Come and find out what is on, what is still available, and how to get to the gardens that are open.
It is also one of the places where talks and workshops are held, and where the Botanical Art and Illustration Exhibition hangs for the season.
The opening
The Hub opens on Thursday 1 October, and the festival opens with it. The Botanical Art and Illustration Exhibition opens the same morning.
The opening on 1 October is an invitation only event
The exhibition
Discover the beauty of New Zealand's botanical world in this invitation exhibition of Botanical Art and Illustration, curated by The Garden School of Art.
Presented as part of Dunedin's Garden Festival, the exhibition features original artworks by established botanical artists. This collection celebrates New Zealand's native and cultivated plant life.
Reflecting many years of dedication and artistic practice, each artist brings a unique perspective to their work while honouring the traditions of botanical art and illustration.
All the exhibitors have previously participated in the highly successful botanical exhibitions at Olveston Historic Home, which attracted enthusiastic audiences and helped establish a strong following for this specialised art form in Dunedin.

While you are here
The Hub is the start of it. Bloom Spring runs across October, with the open gardens over Labour Weekend and a week of walks, talks and workshops in between.
